Artists [Phil Kamp]

Phil Kamp was born 1981 in Munich/Germany. His deep passion for music started in the early 90´s. His brother Tobi Kamp owned one of the first Hip Hop Culture Clothing Shop's in Germany and received promotion mix tapes from incredible DJ's like DJ Premiere, Tony Touch, Marley Marl, Funk Master Flex and many others. At the age of 12 years, he was so impressed when he saw his first DJ spinning, scratching and juggling 2 or 3 Turntables nearly the same time. This became his motivation. After 5 year's of learning Hip Hop, Rap, Soul and Funk, Phil was living his passion as a local DJ playing across Germany and extravagant fashion clubs in Italy. By the age of 19, he was playing for the one and only Hip Hop radio station in Munich. In 1997, Phil found his love and sanctuary for a different style of dance music, which is still being introduced in Germany … something called "House Music". People who work in the Rap and Soul industry he is common with, like DJ Spinna, Vikter Duplaix, King Britt, Jazzy Jeff, Kenny Dope and Terry Hunter began to produce, remix and spin House Music too. He felt the passion and saw how people were celebrating life together on the dance floor when some of our mentors were playing across Europe, like Kenny Dope Gonzales, Joe Claussell, David Morales or Ron Carrol, but most of all from Louie Vega.

During the years, Phil and his brother started a booking agency for deep & soulful house
artists where he has played alongside Franck Roger, Mr. V, Tyrone Francis, Tyree Cooper
and many more. Phil has become a young protégé of deep soulful house music in Germany. It is a hard work to catch the people in our country with soulful vibes, but if someone can educate the peepz – Phil ´blackstar` Kamp will be the one. To the future of underground dance music in Europe.

Experiencing Phil ´blackstar` Kamp DJ-Sets is like taking a trip back in time to dance musics golden age. Before superstar DJs took over the spotlight, dance music was a cultural phenomenon that did what no other form of music could do, bring people together. It didn´t matter what race or sexual orientation you came from because dance music was all about embracing our differences and creating a homogeneous vibe. The music was built heavily on traditional song structures and lots of heart and soul. DJs played whatever it took to get the party going and the music was never predictable. It is with this classic spirit and enthusiasm that Munich Citys - Phil ´blackstar` Kamp - targets todays music world.

Last February 2007, Phil ´blackstar` Kamp hosted Franck Roger in Nürnberg. In March 2007 he had his first experences overseas, he played in Orlando/Crocked Bayoo and at the Miami Winter Music Conference / Hotel Victor. Past April Phil was the no.1 host of the – Mr.V ´Welcome Home` Album Release Club-Tour across 8 German cities. Since that Club-Tour with Mr.V, the Nuyorican nominated Phil to be the "5Beats Germany Representative" and Resident-DJ of all forthcoming "5Beats" Events in Germany. The "5Beats" Parties are founded by Mr.V, Alix Alvarez, Franck Roger, DJ Deep and Frankie Feliciano at the Miami Winter Music Conference 2005. Other 5Beats Resident DJ´s are DJ Spinna, Osunlade, Quentin Harris, Joe Claussell and the Grammy Award Winner – Louie Vega.
